Basic Daily Care Fee Payable by all aged care recipients
The maximum daily care fee is payable by all residents in aged care and equates to 85% of the Australian single age pension. The basic daily fee is set by the Australian Government and increases on the 20th of March and September every year. For some people this is the only fee they are required to pay.
Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC) - Subject to financial
assessment outcome
The resident pays the required amount direct to the aged care provider which reduces the amount of care subsidy paid from the government to the provider. This fee is subject to quarterly reviews. The DAC can be paid as a RAC (Refundable Accommodation Contribution).
